~NaturesMortes is a DA gallery dedicated to showcasing fine still life photography, an oft-overlooked form of photographic expression. Still life photography refers to pictures taken of pre-arranged inanimate objects, and while this is often considered as a way of practicing one's photographic skills, we at ~
NaturesMortes firmly believe that careful arrangement of objects, attention to light and composition can achieve powerful aesthetic effect, and stir deep emotions.
Joining: if you're interested in becoming a member, simply send us a note with "Join" as the subject + add us to your watchlist + add our icon or provide a link to us in your journal or signature. The community will watch you in return.
Submission rules:
- Only members are allowed to submit deviations.
- Simply send us a note with "Submission" as the object, and provide a link to your still life image.
- Please
only send your highest quality photographs, and make sure that they fit the genre (this does not mean the original image must necessarily belong to the DA category "Still-life").
- While we accept a level of analog or digital darkroom manipulation, please do not submit photomanipulations.
~NaturesMortes is a selective community when it comes to gallery displays. You are allowed (and encouraged) to submit images as often as you like, but you must be aware that in order to keep up with our standards,
we reserve ourselves the right not to display submissions we deem unsuitable and/or not meeting our quality requirements.
Please understand that we may not have the time to notify everyone, and explain why we chose not to post a submitted deviation.
